George Turvey

George is an actor and director based in South-West England. He is Artistic Director of the Olivier Award-winning Papatango Theatre Company, who champion new writing. George directed ‘Shook’ by Samuel Bailey which received 5* reviews and was nominated for 7 Off-West End Awards including Best Director and Best Production. In 2022 George was chosen as one of The Stage 25, a list of 25 theatre-makers The Stage believes will go on to achieve great things over the next quarter-century and become stalwarts of future editions of The Stage 100. He recently directed ‘Some Demon’ by Lara Waldren at Arcola Theatre and Bristol Old Vic, which was nominated for 4 Off-West End Awards.
