Chris Gau is a British comedy writer, improviser and director based in London. He co-created, executive produced and wrote the TV series ‘Borderline’ for Channel 5/Netflix US/UK and ‘The Literary Adventures of Mr. Brown’ (BBC Radio 4). Chris has also developed, written and sold comedy shows for Disney, Apple TV, BBC, Hat Trick Productions, Comedy Central UK, Pop TV (US), Big Talk, You + Me, Various Artists Limited & Freemantle International and others.
Chris has written several short films: The multi-award winning ‘Deja Vu’; ‘Bin Day’ made the Official Selection at the LA Comedy Shorts; and ‘Screen Grab’ was shortlisted for the BAFTA sponsored Reed Short Film Competition.
Chris has co-written and directed nine shows for the Edinburgh Festival, the latest ‘An Audience with Yasmine Day’ culminating with a run at London’s Soho Theatre.
As an actor and performer Chris has produced and performed hundreds of shows at the Free Association Theatre, an improvisational comedy theatre based in London, where he is part of the senior training faculty. He has also performed in over fifteen Edinburgh Shows, and performed stand-up comedy for seven years.
